The City of Geneva, like other Chicago suburbs, is considering mandatory fire sprinkler installations in new residential builds.  If approved, the sprinkler requirement would not take effect until December 30, 2019, but as a home builder we feel passionate about this potential change.  Depending on the square footage of a home, and the layout, fire sprinklers can add tens of thousands of dollars to a new home.  While we believe in safety always, we also feel that it should be the homeowners choice on how they choose to spend their money.  Below please find a news clip from NBC 5 Chicago News featuring an interview of George Havlicek on this very subject.
